I honestly hate how the high fashion modelling world, aimed
at ADULT women uses pre-pubescent girls as models for their products. I mean,
how fucking ridiculous is that?! These girls haven’t even gone through puberty
yet, their body hasn’t grown into a woman’s. Yet you are using them to promote
clothes for women who HAVE gone through puberty, the majority of who now have
wider hips and a larger bust. It’s a joke.
And I feel SO much for these girls. I remember how hard it
was dealing with puberty and how my body changed when all I had to do was go to
school. You get signed on your pre-pubescent body and either have to be
naturally be built that way, work your ass of/take dangerous paths to keep that
physique or develop into something they consider keeping. Its not like you get
to pick the width of your hips when puberty starts or the size of your bust.
Sorry to rant, but I just read that Dior’s new
face is just 14 years old and I was absolutely disgusted. This is a big part of
when I detest mainsteam ‘high fashion’ brands. No teenage girl should be put
under that level of pressure. You’re still a kid, you’re still vunerable, you
don’t have the maturity to recognize when you are being exploited and I’m
sorry, dressing girls in women’s clothing is a level of sexualisation that
doesn’t help the world protect the innocence of teenage girls in the world
today
